Waterberg TVET College and Henan Polytechnic Institute sign Co-Construction agreement

The 10th of January 2020 marked a significant day in the Waterberg TVET College calendar. Representatives from Waterberg TVET College and the Zhangheng School of Henan Polytechnic Institute as well as MERSETA met at the College’s Thabazimbi campus to discuss and further sign an agreement for co-construction between the two educational institutions.

The agreement is based on the 5 year South African TVET plan based on industry 4.0 Technology. This plan is focused on equipping graduates with the skills necessary to remain relevant within the 4th industrial revolution. The plan does not only focus on graduate training but on lecture training programmes. The plan is the integration of theory and practical training as well as having the relevant curriculum offered at TVET Colleges.

Representatives from the Zhangheng School of Henan Polytechnic Institute gave a short presentation on their educational institution along with the facilities available at the institution wherein the exchange students will be able to learn at state of the art facilities.

While the agreement was officially signed between Waterberg TVET College and Henan Polytechnic institute to open channels for students to do their skills training at the Henan Polytechnic institute, the institution expressed their plan to also introduce students to companies that could potentially employ them. The two institutions committed to joining ideas in the cultivation of talent .
